What are your shipping and handling rates?
Midwest Plan Service ships via USPS (US Postal Service), FedEx or UPS. The amount ordered and its destination determines the method of shipping. The on-line shipping and handling rates are determined by weight and are calculated at checkout. Since rates are calculated by weight, "per book", the total weight for a multiple, one title order could calculate with an overage. In which case your credit card will be refunded.
Can I use my FedEx or UPS account for shipping ?
Midwest Plan Service will accept the use of FedEx and UPS account numbers for shipping. If ordering by phone, an additional handling fee will be added to the order. For on-line orders be sure to select CUSTOMER PICK-UP on the CHECKOUT page, and provide the type of service and the account number under ORDER COMMENTS.
Can I use a credit card for my purchase?
Yes. VISA, MasterCard, and Discover are accepted ON-LINE only. NO EXCEPTIONS!. All credit cards are processed through the Midwest Plan Service secure website and are batched at midnight on the day the order is placed. Your credit card information is filled in on the last page of the ordering process.
Can you help me with my on-line order?
Here are some helpful guidelines. First select a publication and click ADD TO CART. This will automatically take you to the SHOPPING CART. If you have a COUPON CODE enter it on the SHOPPING CART page. If ordering more than one title, click CONTINUE SHOPPING. Once you have chosen your item(s), click CHECKOUT. On the CHECKOUT page fill in your delivery and billing information. (The COUPON CODE can be entered here too.) If you are picking up your order at the MWPS office, select CUSTOMER PICK-UP. Once CHECKOUT page has been completed, click REVIEW ORDER. If the information on this page is correct click CONTINUE. You are almost done! On this last page enter your CREDIT CARD information. Be sure a select a credit card type! An example of the SECURITY CODE has been provided. Once everything has been filled in, click CONTINUE to complete the ordering process, or CANCEL THIS PAYMENT.
Can I order using a purchase order?
Yes. Please email purchase orders to: email@example.com. Or mail to: Midwest Plan Service, 4306D Elings, Iowa State University, Ames IA 50011. (We reserve the right to require prepayment.)
Purchase Orders should include the following:
- SHIP TO: Provide a physical street address. Post Office Boxes are not allowed).
- BILL TO: If different than SHIP TO.
- Phone number and email address.
- An itemized detail of materials requested.
- An authorized signature must be visible.
- All terms and conditions must be visible.
When is my payment due?
If you prefer not to order on-line, please submit payment with your MAIL IN order. If you've ordered using a PO, payment is due within 30 days of the day the PO was shipped.

Can I exchange merchandise?
If Midwest Plan Service shipped the title, we will accept returns within 30 days of receiving the book(s). Please call 515-294-4337 to make arrangements for the return. Damaged or defective merchandise will be replaced within 30 days of shipment upon receipt of the unacceptable material. All paper work is required. Call first for approval. If the information is not what you expected give us a call.
What is the MWPS Returns Policy?
Midwest Plan Service does not accept returns for overages. Please order accordingly.
